Main Terminal Upgrade Phase 2 Complete
The major upgrade of Wellington Airport’s main terminal was unveiled on Monday 12 August. This complex staged project saw the removal of the last air handling unit located in the old central food court of the airport’s main terminal.
The result has transformed the central terminal into a light airy space with expansive views across the runway and out to the south coast.
The upgrade has seen new pop-up food and beverage outlets showcasing local and international favourites welcomed to the terminal, including Mojo, Superfino, Fortune Favours, the Blue Lady and TJ Katsu with Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop to open on 17 August.
Visitors to the terminal can also be immersed in a World of WearableArt Awards Show display featuring To Be or Not to Be, an award winning garment from United Kingdom designer Joanne Peacock, or relax in the new casual seating area.
There are also some exciting new retail stores coming into the terminal, so keep an eye out on the continuing developments.
