Orchestra Wellington

Founded over sixty years ago, Orchestra Wellington have grown to become one of the most consistently well attended in the country. With unique programming, accessible pricing, and a focus on community outreach, Orchestra Wellington is now recognised as one of the most exciting and progressive orchestras in the world.

Their goal is also to be the most accessible orchestra in the country and want people from all walks of life to experience the thrill of live orchestral music through a number of accessibility initiatives and an array of community outreach concerts. As well as playing alongside our national opera and ballet companies, they don’t restrict themselves to the concert hall, taking music to the streets and performing at iconic community events such as Summer City, CubaDupa, the New Zealand Festival and many more occasions in our cultural capital.

How we help

In 2017, Orchestra Wellington and Wellington Airport embarked on a partnership to promote and bring exciting and engaging orchestral performances to the Wellington community and airport customers, and our partnership was expanded in 2019.
