CubaDupa is an annual festival celebrating extraordinary arts and culture in the iconic heart of downtown Te Whanganui-a-Tara. We're proud to be a foundation partner bringing Wellington's biggest street party to life each summer.
CubaDupa is the annual immersive celebration of extraordinary arts and culture in the iconic heart of downtown Wellington. It attracts thousands of people from all walks of life to take over the streets, injecting an electrified atmosphere into an already spirited quarter for two days of artistic discovery, immersion and participation.
CubaDupa was founded in 2015, under the vision of Drew James, Artistic Director, the Creative Capital Arts Trust and the Wellington City Council. The event builds on the success generated by the popular Cuba Street Carnival which ran from 1998- 2009.
