Project Manager

About the role

This opportunity supports Senior Project Managers with a key focus on design management, procurement, Engineer’s representative/contract administration, financial management and reporting.

You will be:

  • scoping potential capital projects, working through feasibility studies, design concepts, and cost definition in support of robust business cases process
  • delivering approved projects from start to end
  • procuring appropriate consultants and contractors 
  • managing project financial performance
  • managing multiple internal and external stakeholders

About you

You have:

  • five years of project management experience from a consultancy background delivering infrastructure projects in New Zealand
  • experience in the management of construction projects from inception to completion in a fast paced operational environment
  • working knowledge of contract law and the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • the ability to think strategically, logically and methodically
  • strong communication skills both, verbal and written 
  • an innovative, flexible and results-orientated approach

You are confident:

  • working in consultative and collaborative team environments
  • working with and managing consultants & contractors
  • leading and advising internal stakeholders
  • preparing and managing budgets
  • applying Risk Management principles, Safety in Design reviews, Value Engineering

Ideally, you have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent
  • engineering, architectural, quantity surveying or building experience
  • knowledge or experience in aviation environments

As part of our standard pre-employment requirements, you must be able to obtain security clearance from Aviation Security Services, complete a Ministry of Justice background check and pass a drug/alcohol test.
