Welcome to the new improved website for Wellington International Airport Ltd. "Wild at Heart" Wellington Airport is one of New Zealand's three largest airports, handling over 5 million passengers for the year to 31 March 2008.
For this period we had over 111,000 aircraft movements, and showcased approximately many Wellington bands on Friday nights!!
Our "Wild at Heart" brand is just the start of the new look for Wellington Airport. "Wild at Heart" means a dynamic approach to business, and a great service attitude, which our concessionaires are pushing from the front line.
Our airport has a single 1936 metre runway, and we are a major domestic hub in the national transport system, as well as providing services over the sea to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Fiji.
WIAL was privatised in 1998 and is now 66% owned by Infratil and 34% owned by Wellington City Council
